An interfaculty Master programme Medical Photonics is offered at Jena University from winter term 2016/2017 on.
The course conveys broad basis of knowledge in biomedicine as well as in natural sciences and mathematics and a deep insight in the fields of microscopy, spectroscopy, diagnostics, and clinical applications of photonics.
The Master of Science in Medical Photonics prepares students for a science-based and research-oriented occupation in the field of medical optics and photonics and enables them join university graduate schools.
Application requirements: First degree in chemistry, physics, Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine (Human) or equivalent, above-average GPA
Program duration: two years (full-time study)

The Abbe School of Photonics at the Jena University provides a Master Course "Photonics". In the Curriculum, elective courses "Biomedical Imaging" and "Biophotonics" are offered for specialization.
Additional courses "Ophthalmology" and "Microscopy in life science" will be established.
